This is a quiet grid with loud roads around it. The Westway passes within a couple of streets, the Harrow Road runs along one edge and the A5 Edgware Road is close enough that plenty of local cars use it daily. Damage gets picked up out there and shows up back on the crescents as a tyre that is down in the morning. Kerb scuffs from the narrow turnings account for the rest. That is where most Little Venice jobs are done. The permit on the windscreen has to belong to the zone the bay is in, and the bay must not be under suspension. Park with room on the kerb side and the wheel comes off there.
A tyre is losing air and I am about to join the A40 at Paddington. Is it safe to drive?
Better not. Pressure loss gets worse under load and the Westway is no place to be stuck, with nowhere to pull in safely. Come off before you commit to the slip road, park on a bay in W2 or W9, and the fitter comes to you there.
Do you cover the W2 side towards Paddington as well as W9?
Both, along with Westbourne Green, Maida Vale and the streets down towards the Edgware Road. The two postcodes meet in the middle of Little Venice, so give the full one on the call rather than just the area name.
Is there anywhere off street to have this done?
The NCP car park at Maida Vale and the Paddington station car park are the two public options within easy reach, and both give a van room to work. Otherwise it is a forecourt if the house has one, or the bay the car is already sitting on.
