The tyre bay comes to Lichfield in the back of the van: changer, balancer, compressor and the tyre. A car in Curborough or at Beacon Park never has to move.
Lichfield's centre was laid out long before cars, and a car with a destroyed tyre in a city-centre surface car park, or stuck on a Curborough drive, is not going anywhere near a garage under its own power. Emergency mobile fitting removes the need. The van carries the same equipment a workshop would use, so the entire job, from breaking the old tyre off the rim to balancing the new one, happens beside the car, in that car park or on the Curborough drive.
On arrival the fitter positions the van beside the car, jacks it on level ground, removes the wheel and mounts the new tyre on the machine in the van, then balances the assembly and bolts the wheel back up, each nut set on the torque wrench to the maker's figure. Have the sidewall marking, the exact location and the locking key ready. Tyre, visit and fitting are priced as one sum when you ring, and the dead tyre travels back to Brent Cross in the van.
Surface car parks in the city centre, the Beacon Park and Three Spires car parks, drives in Curborough, Boley Park and Leomansley, either station car park, Fradley Park yards. On the A38 or the M6 Toll the car must already be off the carriageway at Streethay or Wall.

This work needs level ground and a strip of space beside the problem wheel, enough for a jack and a tyre laid flat. A Curborough or Leomansley drive, a wide bay in the Beacon Park car park or a Fradley Park yard all suit, provided nobody is blocked in. Permit or private bays are fine with the holder's agreement. Changer and balancer travel inside the van, so a Lichfield car never needs moving. The pedestrianised streets by Lichfield Cathedral are the one area to avoid.
