Broken tyres on the A43 are usually found when the car is already parked. Clipping a high kerb at the Round Spinney roundabout, dropping a wheel off the verge edge on the single sections near Whittlebury, or bouncing through a pothole on a Kettering side road can leave a bubble in the sidewall, a cut, or cords showing through the shoulder. None of that necessarily shows as a flat, and it is often spotted the next morning on a Towcester drive.
Photograph the damaged sidewall along with the size markings and send both. Where a bulge has risen or cord shows, the carcass is finished, and the straight verdict is to leave the car parked rather than nurse it along the A43 to Northampton. Come off the A43 at Geddington Road Roundabout or onto Stamford Road and stop on a quiet street in Priors Hall Park or Little Stanion where the car sits level.
