Mobile tyre fitting
in Vauxhall.
Vauxhall is more interchange than neighbourhood, with the A202 crossing the bridge into the gyratory and the A3204 Kennington Lane feeding it. Rescue Tyres steers clear of all that and works on the car where it is parked.
A fitter at your car
in Vauxhall.
Nobody wants to stop moving at Vauxhall, which is exactly the trouble when a tyre goes. Traffic funnels in from Wandsworth Road, Kennington Lane and the bridge, and there is no lay-by and no obvious place to pull in. Get off the gyratory onto a residential street in SE11 and come to a proper stop. From there a fitter comes to you, with the tyre already loaded to the code you read off the sidewall.

Tyre work in Vauxhall.
Heavy traffic here is hard on tyres. A burst or shredded tyre is swapped at the kerb, with the rim inspected before it is refitted. A tread puncture caught early is taken off for an internal repair to BS AU 159. Replacements follow the size, load and speed codes stamped on the tyre in place, run-flat fitments among them. A locking nut without its key comes off and a standard one replaces it. It all runs 24 hours, seven days.
Repairs follow BS AU 159; the legal minimum tread is 1.6mm (GOV.UK).

Drives, bays and car parks.
A permit bay on a street off Kennington Lane is the obvious working surface in SE11, and it does fine when the car is inside the markings with space on the offside. Basement parking under the newer Nine Elms blocks is better still, level and dry, though the height barrier and the building's rules settle it. No sizeable public car park sits in this corner to send a driver to, so estate parking behind the main roads takes that role instead. A bus lane is never an option, empty or not.
Three kinds of address matter here. Residents live in the estates and terraces between Kennington Lane and the A203 South Lambeth Road, where every bay is permit-controlled and a car can stand for days before a soft tyre is noticed. Others live in the Nine Elms blocks along the A3205 Nine Elms Lane, where the car is usually in a basement and the concierge decides whether a van comes down the ramp. And some drivers end up on the gyratory itself, having limped across Vauxhall Bridge. The A202, South Lambeth Road and Kennington Lane all carry red route markings and bus lanes, so none of them is a working spot. Anything picked up on the bridge has to come off it into a side street first.

24 hours in Vauxhall.
This is a busy corner of London after dark: it might be someone leaving late, a driver who has just come over the bridge on a tyre going soft, or a resident facing an early start. The line is staffed all night and every weekend, and the figure is fixed while you are still on it.
