Mobile tyre fitting

Dalston in Hackney has two stations a few streets apart, Dalston Junction and Dalston Kingsland, with Kingsland High Street between them and Dalston Lane heading east. Rescue Tyres comes to wherever in E8 the car is parked and fits the tyre there.

The high street is where tyres die in Dalston. Kingsland High Street and the roads feeding it are stop-start from morning until late, kerbs are close, and a wheel gets kissed against one while squeezing past a stopped bus. Add the occasional nail out of the gutter and that is the tyre trouble here. The car then goes back to a terrace off Graham Road or Amhurst Road and stays there, flat, until somebody rings. The tyre travels out to it.

Tyre work in Dalston.
The work in E8 can be as simple as one tyre on one car: a new one picked to match size, load and speed markings exactly, then fitted and balanced at the kerbside. A puncture through the middle of the tread, clear of either shoulder and six millimetres or less, is repaired internally to BS AU 159 with the tyre off its rim. A shredded tyre is exchanged, the rim checked. A locking nut goes when its key is lost. Nights are covered.
Repairs follow BS AU 159; the legal minimum tread is 1.6mm (GOV.UK).
Dalston sits within our mobile tyre fitting across Hackney, and the same base and phone line cover both.

Drives, bays and car parks.
A resident bay on a side street, car parked square and the flat wheel to the pavement where it can be arranged, is the standard arrangement. A yard or forecourt behind a business is better still when one is going spare. Store parking is the store's to allow. What is not usable is the high street kerb during trading time, a bus lane, a bay you would be blocking somebody else out of, and the junctions around the two stations, which are congested enough already.
The round covers the terraces north and south of Dalston Lane, from the flats and estates near the two stations, and from streets running down towards London Fields and Hackney Central. Every street in this borough is a controlled zone, and plenty are filtered or closed to through traffic at the ends, which changes the route a van takes rather than whether it can reach you. Off-street space is almost unheard of, so the standard job is done in a resident bay. Tesco bays nearby are customer parking and belong to the store, which is a question to put to them first. Amhurst Road and Mare Street carry too much traffic to be a sensible place to kneel beside a wheel.

24 hours in Dalston.
Dalston keeps late hours. A flat found after midnight on a side street is no reason to wait for morning: a wheel can be changed in a safe resident bay in the small hours. The line is answered, the size checked, and what you will pay is fixed before anyone sets out.
